Miami’s Best Kids Cooking Classes

Miss Nancy’s Petit Chefs

Each week, little foodies will whip up gourmet treats during Miss Nancy’s Petit Chefs class. This hands-on experience engages all the senses and lays the perfect foundation for a lifelong love of cooking. Kids will learn about each ingredient and the importance of what foods they put in their bodies. They will work on dishes individually and then collaborate as a group, building teamwork and social skills. It’s a messy, silly, fun and delicious time! Plus, they’ll bring home their creations for their family to enjoy.

Calendar

One of our most popular classes, Petit Chefs incorporates both cooking and food-themed crafts. “Children learn about food, how to prepare it and to try new things,” Miss Nancy explains. “At first, they don’t want to touch anything gooey, but then they love to touch everything. If you have a picky eater at home, this is a great way to broaden their horizons. They’ll see their friends and classmates try the food, and they may try it, too. The kids are all together at the table, and there’s an exchange of conversation about food, which is wonderful. It’s important to involve kids in the kitchen, they become more interested in food and the whole process.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need to bring anything to class?

Although we supply aprons, we suggest wearing clothes that can get messy. If there is a special outfit required, you will receive an email with detailed instructions upon registration.

What if my child has a food allergy?

Each week, there will be a different cooking project. Miss Nancy will do her best to accommodate any allergies. However, if your child has severe food allergies, we suggest signing up for her complementary class, Miss Nancy’s Petit Crafts.

How early should we arrive at State of Kid before the class starts?

We recommend that you arrive five to ten minutes before your class starts. We do have a steady flow of classes throughout the day, and we start promptly. Please don’t be late as it disturbs the other students and instructor.
