Cancellation & Makeup Policy

If your child's interests have changed, your current class isn’t working, or you need to make up a missed class, we’re here to help. Please review our updated policies (as of 9/1/26) and reach out to your local State of Kid manager with any questions or requests. 

Note: We do not offer refunds.

Monthly Classes

By registering for monthly classes, you are committing to a minimum of two (2) months. You will be billed for your first month upon registration and on the 1st of each following month.

To cancel your monthly class, you must email us by the 15th of the month for cancellation of the following month.

Example: If you register in January, you are committed to January and February. To cancel beginning in March, notify us by February 15.

If your child needs to miss a class, monthly members may receive one makeup token per month when the cancellation is made by 2:00 pm the day prior.

  • Makeup tokens are automatically added to your account when issued.
  • Makeup tokens are valid for one month from the date they are issued and expire after that.
  • Makeup tokens may be used toward an age-appropriate class where space is available.
  • We cannot guarantee a makeup spot in the same class, location, or time as the missed class.
  • No makeup tokens are issued for same-day cancellations, including cancellations due to illness.

Drop-In Classes & Camps

If you need to cancel a drop-in class, cancellation must be made by 2:00 pm the day prior to receive a makeup token.

  • Makeup tokens are automatically added to your account when issued.
  • Makeup tokens are valid for one month from the date they are issued and expire after that.
  • Makeup tokens may be used toward an age-appropriate class where space is available.
  • We cannot guarantee a makeup spot in the same class, location, or time as the missed class.
  • No makeup tokens are issued for same-day cancellations, including cancellations due to illness.

Using Makeup Tokens

Makeup tokens can be used to book an age-appropriate class where space is available. Makeup spots are not guaranteed, so we recommend using your token as soon as possible within its one-month validity period.

Makeup tokens cannot be extended or exchanged for cash or refunds.

Outdoor Classes

  • If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, a makeup will be scheduled.
  • If inclement weather begins during class, the session will move indoors. We cannot issue credits for classes moved indoors.
