Miss Mancy's Sensory Sensations

According to Albert Einstein, “play is the highest form of research.” It’s how our children learn, and sensory play is a crucial part of development for kids of all ages. Miss Mancy, a pediatric OT, has created a rich (and fun!) sensory experience for State of Kid that incorporates touch, smell, sight, sound and, at times, taste. Her classes also focus on body awareness and balance. At the end of each class, parents and caregivers are given a list of sensory activities to try at home to continue the learning experience.

While classes are offered as drop-in, Miss Mancy encourages families to attend consistently. Each Sensory Sensations class is centered around a color of the rainbow and includes a music and movement activity as well as color-themed sensory stations. The series is designed to improve fine and gross motor skills, support language development and develop problem-solving skills. This is one you don’t want to miss!
